Common Questions from South Africa Growers
Shipping, payment, germination, storage, and what we can and cannot tell you about a strain before you buy — answered for growing in South Africa. If your question is not here, get in touch with our team.
Seeds & Cultivation
Feminised or autoflowering — which do I actually need?
They answer different questions. Feminised is about SEX: every plant comes up female, so nothing in your space is wasted on a male you would pull. Autoflowering is about TIMING: the plant blooms on age rather than daylength. A seed can be either, both, or neither. If your season is short because frost closes it, timing is your constraint and you want an autoflower.
How do I store seed between seasons?
Cool, dark, dry and sealed, with a desiccant sachet. A fridge works provided the container is genuinely airtight — what kills viability is repeated condensation as seed moves between warm and cold, not the cold itself. Never freeze. Write the strain and the date on the container; a year later nobody remembers.
Is there a germination guarantee?
Yes, and it is a promise with a remedy rather than a test result. Follow the method in our guide, and if fewer than 95% open, email us within 30 days with photographs and we replace the pack free — same strain, same size, no return postage.
Can your team help me with a grow problem?
Yes. Send us what you are seeing and, if you can, a photograph. We will give you a straight answer or tell you we do not know, which is more useful than a confident guess about a plant we cannot inspect.
Which strains cope best with a South African summer?
It depends entirely on where you are, which is why one national answer would be wrong. On the humid KwaZulu-Natal coast and through the Lowveld, humidity rather than heat is the limit — pick open, airy flower structure and mould resistance. In the Western Cape, flowering falls in a dry summer and almost anything finishes; plan around the south-easter instead. On the Highveld, the frost date decides, so pick on finishing speed.
Delivery & Dispatch
Where do you deliver?
All nine provinces. The Western Cape is served as readily as Limpopo, and Gauteng as readily as the Northern Cape. Outlying towns and farm addresses run a day or two behind the metros — that is the one stated exception to our transit window rather than something we hide in the small print.
How long does delivery take?
Orders leave us in 1-2 business days and are typically 2-5 business days in transit, quickest between the metros. A tracking reference is emailed the moment the parcel is handed over.
Is there free shipping?
Yes, on orders of R1 500 or more. Below that a flat R99 applies nationally — not a sliding scale by distance, so an address in Upington pays what an address in Sandton pays.
How discreet is the packaging?
Nothing on the outside says what is inside. Plain outer packaging, no logo, no company name, no description of the contents — the courier label and the sender line are all anyone sees, including whoever signs at a pickup point or a shared postbox.
Purchases & Payments
How does ordering work?
Choose your strains and pack sizes, then check out with a South African delivery address — the dropdown lists the nine provinces and nothing else, because that is the only country we ship to. A confirmation email arrives immediately and tracking follows on dispatch.
What can I pay with?
Visa and Mastercard, and major cryptocurrencies where that option appears at checkout. Card details are handled by the payment provider and never stored on this site.
Can I change or cancel an order?
If it has not been dispatched, yes — email us quickly with your order number. Once a parcel is with the courier we cannot recall it, though you can still use the returns process on an unopened pack.
Do you discount larger orders?
The pack sizes already do that: per-seed cost falls as pack size rises, and the 25-seed packs are the best value on standard products. Mix packs bundle several strains below the sum of the singles.
South African Law & Privacy
What is your position on the law?
We do not take one. Seed is sold as an adult collectible and for genetic preservation, and we do not offer legal advice or interpret what is permitted where you live — that is genuinely yours to establish, and we would rather say so than guess on your behalf.
How is my personal information handled?
Your details travel over an encrypted connection and are never sold or passed to anyone beyond those who need them to get the parcel to you. POPIA gives you the right to see what we hold, correct it, object to processing and complain to the Information Regulator — the privacy page sets out how.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes, 18. Placing an order is your confirmation that you meet it.
