Royal King Genetics — Seed-Lot Testing

Figures below come from our own seed-lot testing rather than breeder marketing, taken from a single batch tested 2026-04-08 on 350 seeds.

Germination rate: 96.5% (n=350)
Last QC test date: 2026-04-08
Indoor yield: 436-550 g/m² (avg across 12 verified grower reports)
Outdoor yield: 626-818 g/plant (avg across 3 verified grower reports)

About Citrus Sap Feminised

The way to plan Citrus Sap is backwards from the day you intend to cut, with up to 500 g/m2 per square metre indoors and up to 600 g/plant per plant outdoors as the figures you are working toward, at 23% THC. Count 60-70 days back from that date and you have your flip date. This one does not dump its weight in a fortnight the way a short indica will; it adds through the whole bloom. Growers who panic about autumn rain and chop a fortnight early routinely hand back a fifth of the crop. Depending on your province the honest window runs from late March into May, and the limonene-led profile only arrives in the last fourteen days.

Where the Weight Actually Comes From

Yield on Citrus Sap — the up to 500 g/m2 indoors and up to 600 g/plant outdoors quoted above — is decided in three short stretches of the 60-70 days bloom rather than evenly across it.

The first ten days after the flip. Whatever stretch happens here sets your canopy, and an uneven canopy wastes light for the remainder of the grow. Stretch runs to 50-60% of pre-flower height. Supercrop anything breaking the canopy line inside the first week or you will be lighting empty air.

Weeks three to five. This is when limonene production climbs, and it answers to the gap between day and night temperature rather than to either number on its own. Keep at least 6-8°C between them. Outdoor growers in the interior provinces get that swing free in March and April; indoors, aim for 25-26°C lights-on against 18-20°C lights-off, with potassium-led bloom feed at EC 1.6-1.8.

The last ten to fourteen days. Stop feeding, flush with pH-corrected water, and read trichomes daily under a 60x loupe. Cut at 5-10% amber, before the clear-headed character starts sliding toward sedation. Outdoors that usually lands between late March and mid-April.

Difficulty: intermediate. In flower for 60-70 days. Stands 90-120 cm. Medium. Indoors it returns up to 500 g/m2. Outdoors, up to 600 g/plant a plant.

Aroma, Flavour and Effect

The first thing Citrus Sap does at 23% THC is lift it with a bright, nearly effervescent citrus. The euphoric, calm effects follow within minutes, as a sharpening rather than a lift: colour reads more saturated, music holds more detail, conversation wanders further than it would have. It runs two to three hours on a plateau instead of a peak, so nothing drops out from under you at the end. Pinene sits underneath all of it, adding an alertness that keeps thinking crisp.

The Aromatic Three

Leading with Limonene, then Pinene, and Terpinolene underneath. How this combination survives the move from flower to vapour or smoke is not a given. Held low, at 180-188°C, the pinene and terpinolene notes stay legible with limonene underneath them. Run it hotter, or burn it, and the three collapse into one — still pleasant, but without the separation that makes this cultivar worth paying attention to.

Suitability and Recommendations

Who does well with Citrus Sap? Indoor growers who want the harvest date to be their decision. Outdoor growers who want to choose the moment flowering starts. Anyone with the room and the patience to veg it properly before flipping. It is rated intermediate, which in practice means a moderate learning curve that rewards attention without needing laboratory conditions. Sent nationwide in plain, unbranded packaging, with sourced grow data on every strain page.

Stabilisation Notes — What This Means for Your Grow

A mid-2010s cross stabilised over four generations of selection. Citrus Sap grows true-to-type with the controlled stretch that defines the cultivar.

Breeding Goal

Cull off-type phenos in Citrus Sap through filial selection.

Selection Focus

Chosen for terpene saturation, sativa vigour and a workable finish time despite long-flowering genetics.

Pollen / Mother Source

Royal King Genetics in-house mother stock — pollen taken from a sibling male drawn from the same selected pheno population.
