Will Cookies and Cream handle a South African summer outdoors? Yes. Put this 52/48 hybrid in the ground between September and November and you will be cutting from March to May. The balanced genetics take what the country gives them, from coastal humidity in KwaZulu-Natal through to dry Karoo heat. Bloom runs 8-9 weeks, placing harvest between March and May across most provinces.

What yield is realistic? 400-500 g/m2 indoors is reachable under decent LED with steady feeding. Outdoors, 500 g/plant a plant is normal in 50 litre pots or straight into prepared ground in full sun. At 23% THC with caryophyllene in front, the return on effort is good.

How much can go wrong before it shows? Some. Anyone who understands pH, a feeding schedule and a light cycle will be fine. Neglect it entirely and it will suffer, but a single missed watering will not undo the grow.

Which medium suits it best? Depends what you are optimising for. Organic soil cut with 30% perlite and amended with bone meal, rock phosphate and kelp meal gives the fuller flavour, and all three are stocked by garden centres, agricultural co-ops and hydro shops countrywide. Coco under automated fertigation at EC 1.4-1.8 through bloom gives the bigger number. This hybrid genetics performs in either.

Does it cope with real summer heat? Well enough, on hybrid vigour. Keep the root zone under 28°C with mulch or pale pots, and do not transplant during a heatwave.

When do I switch to bloom feed? As soon as pistils show, not a fortnight later. The 52/48 genetics changes its demand sharply at the transition: phosphorus and potassium uptake rises while nitrogen demand falls away. Soil growers can top-dress with guano and sulphate of potash; coco and hydro growers should move to a low-N, high-PK formula immediately.

Indoors or outdoors? Indoors buys control over the 8-9 weeks environment. Outdoors, across a September-to-May season, gives you sunlight intensity no LED at any price reproduces, and the full 500 g/plant. Difficulty: easy. In flower for 8-9 weeks. Stands Medium. The effects most commonly reported for this cultivar are relaxed, calm. At 23% THC it sits in a bracket where flexibility is the point. Lower doses read clear and functional in the morning, higher doses read relaxed in the evening. Because the 52/48 split is even, direction is set by how much you take rather than fixed by the genetics. The Caryophyllene/Myrcene pairing leaves a warm spice that dries slightly on the exhale on the palate.

Where it fits: most occasions, with the dose adjusted to whatever the situation asks for.

Leading with Caryophyllene, then Myrcene, and Humulene underneath. How this combination survives the move from flower to vapour or smoke is not a given. Held low, at 180-188°C, the myrcene and humulene notes stay legible with caryophyllene underneath them. Run it hotter, or burn it, and the three collapse into one — still pleasant, but without the separation that makes this cultivar worth paying attention to.

Cookies and Cream is a reasonable fit for growers with the basics already in place. Understand pH, know roughly what nutrient ratios do, and be able to hold a light cycle — it will not carry you, but it does not punish the occasional slip either. Photoperiod genetics leave size and timing in your hands — hold it in veg for a bigger plant, or flip early when headroom is the constraint.
