Royal King Genetics — Seed-Lot Testing

Figures below come from our own seed-lot testing rather than breeder marketing, taken from a single batch tested 2026-02-04 on 500 seeds.

Germination rate: 97.5% (n=500)
Last QC test date: 2026-02-04
Indoor yield: 443-578 g/m² (avg across 7 verified grower reports)
Outdoor yield: 633-900 g/plant (avg across 10 verified grower reports)

About Diamond Valley Kush Feminised

The way to plan Diamond Valley Kush is backwards from the day you intend to cut, with up to 350 g/m2 per square metre indoors and up to 350 g/plant per plant outdoors as the figures you are working toward, at 27% THC. Count 55-65 days back from that date and you have your flip date. Weight comes on evenly across 55-65 days, with a late surge that punishes impatience. The 46/54 balance gives you stacking density and broad trichome cover together. Outdoors, late March to late April is the sweet spot — after the summer humidity has broken, before the first Highveld frost.

Where the Weight Actually Comes From

Yield on Diamond Valley Kush — the up to 350 g/m2 indoors and up to 350 g/plant outdoors quoted above — is decided in three short stretches of the 55-65 days bloom rather than evenly across it.

The first ten days after the flip. Whatever stretch happens here sets your canopy, and an uneven canopy wastes light for the remainder of the grow. Stretch of 30-40% is normal. One round of low-stress training on the tallest shoots levels it out.

Weeks three to five. This is when caryophyllene production climbs, and it answers to the gap between day and night temperature rather than to either number on its own. Keep at least 6-8°C between them. Outdoor growers in the interior provinces get that swing free in March and April; indoors, aim for 25-26°C lights-on against 18-20°C lights-off, with potassium-led bloom feed at EC 1.6-1.8.

The last ten to fourteen days. Stop feeding, flush with pH-corrected water, and read trichomes daily under a 60x loupe. Cut at 10-15% amber to keep both sides of the hybrid in play. Outdoors that usually lands between late March and mid-April.

Difficulty: easy. In flower for 55-65 days. Stands 90-120 cm. Medium. Indoors it returns up to 350 g/m2. Outdoors, up to 350 g/plant a plant.

What Diamond Valley Kush Is Like to Use

The effects most commonly reported for this cultivar are euphoric, calm. At 27% THC it sits in a bracket where flexibility is the point. Lower doses read clear and functional in the morning, higher doses read relaxed in the evening. Because the 46/54 split is even, direction is set by how much you take rather than fixed by the genetics. The Caryophyllene/Myrcene pairing leaves a warm spice that dries slightly on the exhale on the palate.

Where it fits: most occasions, with the dose adjusted to whatever the situation asks for.

The Aromatic Three

Leading with Caryophyllene, then Myrcene, and Humulene underneath. Read across a cure, these three compounds do not stay in the same order. Fresh off the dry, caryophyllene leads. After three or four weeks in sealed glass at 16-18°C the humulene undertone comes up and the bouquet gains a layer it did not have at harvest. Vaporising between 180°C and 195°C captures the widest span of them — run it hotter and the volatile humulene molecules are the first thing you lose.

Suitability and Recommendations

Diamond Valley Kush is a reasonable fit for growers with the basics already in place. Understand pH, know roughly what nutrient ratios do, and be able to hold a light cycle — it will not carry you, but it does not punish the occasional slip either. Photoperiod genetics leave size and timing in your hands — hold it in veg for a bigger plant, or flip early when headroom is the constraint. A September-to-May outdoor season comfortably covers a 55-65 days bloom in the frost-free provinces. Posted discreetly anywhere in South Africa, with sourced grow figures shown on every strain page.

Stabilisation Notes — What This Means for Your Grow

Diamond Valley Kush began life as a clone-only cut. Translating a clone into seed without losing the finish-time consistency demands backcrossing — we crossed our chosen pheno back to the parental line three times (BX3) to fix the elite mother into stable seed form.

Breeding Goal

Pin the finish-time consistency of the elite cut into the population.

Selection Focus

Chosen for vigour, terpene saturation and a tight finish window that allows production planning.

Pollen / Mother Source

Royal King Genetics in-house mother stock — pollen taken from a sibling male drawn from the same selected pheno population.
