Will Diesel Power handle a South African summer outdoors? Yes. Put this 5/95 sativa in the ground between September and November and you will be cutting from March to May. It will stretch, and it will use every hour of a long summer day, so give it room early rather than trying to contain it later. What yield is realistic? 350–450 g/m² indoors is reachable under decent LED with steady feeding. Outdoors, 400–600 g/plant a plant is normal in 50 litre pots or straight into prepared ground in full sun. At 20% THC with terpinolene in front, the return on effort is good.

How much can go wrong before it shows? Very little. This cultivar reads every mistake: pH drift, heat spikes and uneven light all come off the final result. Worth attempting once your setup is stable and a couple of runs are behind you.

Which medium suits it best? Depends what you are optimising for. Organic soil cut with 30% perlite and amended with bone meal, rock phosphate and kelp meal gives the fuller flavour, and all three are stocked by garden centres, agricultural co-ops and hydro shops countrywide. Does it cope with real summer heat? Better than most things you could plant. An open canopy sheds heat on its own. Past 38°C you may see midday wilt, but it recovers within the hour once temperatures fall — 30% shade cloth takes the edge off the UV without costing you growth.

When do I switch to bloom feed? As soon as pistils show, not a fortnight later. The 5/95 genetics changes its demand sharply at the transition: phosphorus and potassium uptake rises while nitrogen demand falls away. Soil growers can top-dress with guano and sulphate of potash; coco and hydro growers should move to a low-N, high-PK formula immediately.

Indoors or outdoors? Indoors buys control over the 7–9 weeks environment. Outdoors, across a September-to-May season, gives you sunlight intensity no LED at any price reproduces, and the full 400–600 g/plant. Difficulty: advanced. In flower for 7–9 weeks. After three or four weeks in sealed glass at 16-18°C the ocimene undertone comes up and the bouquet gains a layer it did not have at harvest. Diesel Power is a reasonable fit for growers whose environment is already dialled in and who want something that pays back precision. Temperature control, feed accuracy and consistent monitoring all show up in the final quality here in a way they do not on hardier genetics.
