Figures below come from our own seed-lot testing rather than breeder marketing, taken from a single batch tested 2026-03-18 on 175 seeds.
About Domino Feminised
Days 1 to 14, seed to fourth node: Expect Domino to crack in roughly 48 hours on damp paper towel and to break soil by day three. Early growth runs upward quickly, narrow first leaves already reaching. Look for five nodes by day 14 with obvious gaps between them, which is the sativa pattern showing early. Damping off is rare if you hold near 70% humidity through this stage.
Weeks 3 to 6, building the frame: This is the point where it tries to get away from you. Start low-stress training in week three, bend the main stem over at 90 degrees in week four, and the secondaries will draw level for a flat canopy by week six without topping at all.
Bloom, weeks 1 to 65: The 12/88 character becomes obvious here. Limonene usually shows in week three and strengthens from there, with trichome cover visible without a loupe from about week five. Indoor yield: up to 450 g/m2. Height: 170–210 cm. Tested at 15% THC. Difficulty: easy.
Bloom Through to Jar
Weeks 4 to 6. This is where the plant stops looking like a frame and starts looking like a crop. Buds keep extending lengthwise rather than filling out, stacking fresh calyxes along the stems. Secondary branches often out-produce expectations here, since the open frame lets light down to sites a denser plant would simply have covered.
Weeks 63 to 65, ripening. Drop to plain water for the final ten days. The limonene carry gets strong enough that carbon filtration stops being optional in a residential street. Trichomes run clear to milky across the last fortnight, amber showing on sugar leaves before it reaches the calyxes; around 15% amber on the calyxes themselves is a common place to cut.
Drying and curing. Whole-plant hang in the dark at 17°C and 58% humidity for roughly 12 days — when stems snap instead of bending, it is ready for glass. Burp twice daily for the first fortnight, then once daily through weeks three and four. Finished weight should land near the up to 450 g/m2 estimate. The terpinolene note comes through markedly stronger after curing than it did at harvest, which is the clearest evidence that a cure builds flavour rather than merely preserving it.
Difficulty: easy. In flower for 55-65 days. Stands 170–210 cm. Indoors it returns up to 450 g/m2. Outdoors, up to 450 g/plant a plant. Feminised seeds.
What Domino Is Like to Use
The effects most commonly reported for this cultivar are euphoric, creative, calm. At 15% THC it sits in a bracket where there is a usable working range. Vaporised between 175°C and 185°C it lifts mood and mental energy in a way that suits creative work, a hike, or a long afternoon around a braai. The body stays light, so for anyone with a THC tolerance it holds up as a daytime option. The Limonene/Terpinolene pairing leaves a zesty, clean aftertaste on the palate.
Where it fits: creative work, company, being outdoors, and unstructured daytime hours.
The Aromatic Three
Leading with Limonene, then Terpinolene, and Pinene underneath. How this combination survives the move from flower to vapour or smoke is not a given. Held low, at 180-188°C, the terpinolene and pinene notes stay legible with limonene underneath them. Run it hotter, or burn it, and the three collapse into one — still pleasant, but without the separation that makes this cultivar worth paying attention to.
Suitability and Recommendations
Domino is a reasonable fit for growers with the basics already in place. Understand pH, know roughly what nutrient ratios do, and be able to hold a light cycle — it will not carry you, but it does not punish the occasional slip either. Photoperiod genetics leave size and timing in your hands — hold it in veg for a bigger plant, or flip early when headroom is the constraint. A September-to-May outdoor season comfortably covers a 55-65 days bloom in the frost-free provinces. Posted discreetly anywhere in South Africa, with sourced grow figures shown on every strain page.
