What yield is realistic? 450-650 g/m2 indoors is reachable under decent LED with steady feeding. Outdoors, 500 g/plant a plant is normal in 50 litre pots or straight into prepared ground in full sun. At 21% THC with myrcene in front, the return on effort is good.

How much can go wrong before it shows? A fair amount. Miss a watering, feed roughly, let the temperature swing — it absorbs most of that without much loss of quality. If you have kept a tomato alive through January, this is within reach.

Which medium suits it best? Depends what you are optimising for. Organic soil cut with 30% perlite and amended with bone meal, rock phosphate and kelp meal gives the fuller flavour, and all three are stocked by garden centres, agricultural co-ops and hydro shops countrywide. Coco under automated fertigation at EC 1.4-1.8 through bloom gives the bigger number. This indica genetics performs in either.

Does it cope with real summer heat? Reasonably. The dense foliage shades itself, so a spell above 28°C slows growth without stalling it. Mulch the root zone and water before 7am and heat stress stays manageable through most of the country.

When do I switch to bloom feed? As soon as pistils show, not a fortnight later. The 88/12 genetics changes its demand sharply at the transition: phosphorus and potassium uptake rises while nitrogen demand falls away. Soil growers can top-dress with guano and sulphate of potash; coco and hydro growers should move to a low-N, high-PK formula immediately.

Indoors or outdoors? Indoors buys control over the 8-10 weeks environment. The first thing Gold Leaf does at 21% THC is coat the palate with a deep, musky earthiness. The euphoric, creative, calm effects follow within minutes, starting as weight behind the eyes and working down through the shoulders and limbs. Leading with Myrcene, then Caryophyllene, and Linalool underneath. Read across a cure, these three compounds do not stay in the same order. Fresh off the dry, myrcene leads. After three or four weeks in sealed glass at 16-18°C the linalool undertone comes up and the bouquet gains a layer it did not have at harvest. Vaporising between 180°C and 195°C captures the widest span of them — run it hotter and the volatile linalool molecules are the first thing you lose.

Who does well with Gold Leaf? Indoor growers who want the harvest date to be their decision. Outdoor growers who want to choose the moment flowering starts. Anyone with the room and the patience to veg it properly before flipping. It is rated beginner, which in practice means a first-time grower with a basic setup and a feeding schedule they actually follow will get a decent result.
