Royal King Genetics — Seed-Lot Testing

Figures below come from our own seed-lot testing rather than breeder marketing, taken from a single batch tested 2026-02-21 on 150 seeds.

Germination rate: 98.7% (n=150)
Last QC test date: 2026-02-21
Indoor yield: 422-568 g/m² (avg across 6 verified grower reports)
Outdoor yield: 624-970 g/plant (avg across 5 verified grower reports)

About Green Cheese Feminised

The way to plan Green Cheese is backwards from the day you intend to cut, with up to 350 g/m2 per square metre indoors and up to 350 g/plant per plant outdoors as the figures you are working toward, at 15% THC. Count 50-70 days back from that date and you have your flip date. Weight comes on evenly across 50-70 days, with a late surge that punishes impatience. The 56/44 balance gives you stacking density and broad trichome cover together. Outdoors, late March to late April is the sweet spot — after the summer humidity has broken, before the first Highveld frost.

Where the Weight Actually Comes From

Yield on Green Cheese — the up to 350 g/m2 indoors and up to 350 g/plant outdoors quoted above — is decided in three short stretches of the 50-70 days bloom rather than evenly across it.

The first ten days after the flip. Whatever stretch happens here sets your canopy, and an uneven canopy wastes light for the remainder of the grow. Stretch of 30-40% is normal. One round of low-stress training on the tallest shoots levels it out.

Weeks three to five. This is when limonene production climbs, and it answers to the gap between day and night temperature rather than to either number on its own. Keep at least 6-8°C between them. Outdoor growers in the interior provinces get that swing free in March and April; indoors, aim for 25-26°C lights-on against 18-20°C lights-off, with potassium-led bloom feed at EC 1.6-1.8.

The last ten to fourteen days. Stop feeding, flush with pH-corrected water, and read trichomes daily under a 60x loupe. Cut at 10-15% amber to keep both sides of the hybrid in play. Outdoors that usually lands between late March and mid-April.

Difficulty: easy. In flower for 50-70 days. Stands 150–190 cm. Indoors it returns up to 350 g/m2. Outdoors, up to 350 g/plant a plant.

Aroma, Flavour and Effect

The first thing Green Cheese does at 15% THC is lift it with a bright, nearly effervescent citrus. The euphoric, calm effects follow within minutes, across head and body at once. Thinking stays clear while muscle tension drains off, which leaves the dose as the deciding factor — light for the afternoon, heavier and it moves into the evening without a jolt. Caryophyllene sits underneath all of it, adding a grounding warmth that keeps the whole thing anchored.

The Aromatic Three

Leading with Limonene, then Caryophyllene, and Linalool underneath. This trio turns up repeatedly in cultivars that win things, and it is why a jar of Green Cheese tends to get a reaction the first time it is opened after curing. Limonene sets the anchor, caryophyllene fills the middle, and linalool sits in the background doing the work that separates this from every other strain built on the same primary terpene.

Suitability and Recommendations

Who does well with Green Cheese? Indoor growers who want the harvest date to be their decision. Outdoor growers who want to choose the moment flowering starts. Anyone with the room and the patience to veg it properly before flipping. It is rated easy, which in practice means a moderate learning curve that rewards attention without needing laboratory conditions. Sent nationwide in plain, unbranded packaging, with sourced grow data on every strain page.

Stabilisation Notes — What This Means for Your Grow

Five generations of inbred selection on the original 1990s heritage Green Cheese cuts. We were not chasing a redesign — we locked the cross-derived trait balance that earned this cultivar its reputation. Whatever the next pack throws is what the last pack threw.

Breeding Goal

Bring the original Green Cheese reference profile back to true-to-type seed stock.

Selection Focus

Chosen for terpene profile, vigour, structure and finish-time consistency.

Pollen / Mother Source

Royal King Genetics in-house mother stock — pollen taken from a sibling male drawn from the same selected pheno population.
