Which medium suits it best? Depends what you are optimising for. Organic soil cut with 30% perlite and amended with bone meal, rock phosphate and kelp meal gives the fuller flavour, and all three are stocked by garden centres, agricultural co-ops and hydro shops countrywide. Coco under automated fertigation at EC 1.4-1.8 through bloom gives the bigger number. This indica genetics performs in either.

Does it cope with real summer heat? Reasonably. The dense foliage shades itself, so a spell above 28°C slows growth without stalling it. Mulch the root zone and water before 7am and heat stress stays manageable through most of the country.

When do I switch to bloom feed? As soon as pistils show, not a fortnight later. The 72/28 genetics changes its demand sharply at the transition: phosphorus and potassium uptake rises while nitrogen demand falls away. Leading with Myrcene, then Humulene, and Linalool underneath. Read across a cure, these three compounds do not stay in the same order. Fresh off the dry, myrcene leads. After three or four weeks in sealed glass at 16-18°C the linalool undertone comes up and the bouquet gains a layer it did not have at harvest. Jelly Roll is a reasonable fit for growers with the basics already in place. Understand pH, know roughly what nutrient ratios do, and be able to hold a light cycle — it will not carry you, but it does not punish the occasional slip either. Because it autoflowers there is no light cycle to manage at all, which is what makes it work on a balcony, in an out-of-the-way outdoor spot, or anywhere a timer would be one more thing to go wrong.
