Will Pine handle a South African summer outdoors? Yes. Put this 8/92 sativa in the ground between September and November and you will be cutting from March to May. It will stretch, and it will use every hour of a long summer day, so give it room early rather than trying to contain it later. How much can go wrong before it shows? Some. Anyone who understands pH, a feeding schedule and a light cycle will be fine. Neglect it entirely and it will suffer, but a single missed watering will not undo the grow.

Which medium suits it best? Depends what you are optimising for. Organic soil cut with 30% perlite and amended with bone meal, rock phosphate and kelp meal gives the fuller flavour, and all three are stocked by garden centres, agricultural co-ops and hydro shops countrywide. Does it cope with real summer heat? Better than most things you could plant. An open canopy sheds heat on its own. Past 38°C you may see midday wilt, but it recovers within the hour once temperatures fall — 30% shade cloth takes the edge off the UV without costing you growth.

When do I switch to bloom feed? As soon as pistils show, not a fortnight later. The 8/92 genetics changes its demand sharply at the transition: phosphorus and potassium uptake rises while nitrogen demand falls away. Soil growers can top-dress with guano and sulphate of potash; coco and hydro growers should move to a low-N, high-PK formula immediately.
