Royal King Genetics — Seed-Lot Testing

Figures below come from our own seed-lot testing rather than breeder marketing, taken from a single batch tested 2026-03-21 on 325 seeds.

Germination rate: 96.5% (n=325)
Last QC test date: 2026-03-21
Indoor yield: 430-584 g/m² (avg across 10 verified grower reports)
Outdoor yield: 610-808 g/plant (avg across 9 verified grower reports)

About Purple Star Feminised

The way to plan Purple Star is backwards from the day you intend to cut, with 450–550 g/m² per square metre indoors and 400–600 g/plant per plant outdoors as the figures you are working toward, at 10% THC. Count 6 - 7 weeks back from that date and you have your flip date. Most of the final weight lands between weeks 5 and 8, when calyxes stack fastest and trichome cover goes from patchy to complete. Outdoors in the Southern Hemisphere you want that fattening phase falling in February while the days are still long, which puts a late-March cut about right for most of the country.

Where the Weight Actually Comes From

Yield on Purple Star — the 450–550 g/m² indoors and 400–600 g/plant outdoors quoted above — is decided in three short stretches of the 6 - 7 weeks bloom rather than evenly across it.

The first ten days after the flip. Whatever stretch happens here sets your canopy, and an uneven canopy wastes light for the remainder of the grow. Stretch is modest at 20-30%. Strip the lower fan leaves around day seven and that energy goes into bud sites instead.

Weeks three to five. This is when myrcene production climbs, and it answers to the gap between day and night temperature rather than to either number on its own. Keep at least 6-8°C between them. Outdoor growers in the interior provinces get that swing free in March and April; indoors, aim for 25-26°C lights-on against 18-20°C lights-off, with potassium-led bloom feed at EC 1.6-1.8.

The last ten to fourteen days. Stop feeding, flush with pH-corrected water, and read trichomes daily under a 60x loupe. Cut at 15-20% amber for the heavy end of what this genetics does. Outdoors that usually lands between late March and mid-April.

Difficulty: easy. In flower for 6 - 7 weeks. Stands 110–150 cm. Indoors it returns 450–550 g/m². Outdoors, 400–600 g/plant a plant.

Aroma, Flavour and Effect

The first thing Purple Star does at 10% THC is coat the palate with a deep, musky earthiness. The relaxed, sleepy, happy effects follow within minutes, starting as weight behind the eyes and working down through the shoulders and limbs. Fifteen minutes in there is a physical stillness — not sedation so much as a disinclination to get up. Two to three hours at a moderate dose. Caryophyllene sits underneath all of it, adding a grounding warmth that keeps the whole thing anchored.

The Aromatic Three

Leading with Myrcene, then Caryophyllene, and Linalool underneath. Read across a cure, these three compounds do not stay in the same order. Fresh off the dry, myrcene leads. After three or four weeks in sealed glass at 16-18°C the linalool undertone comes up and the bouquet gains a layer it did not have at harvest. Vaporising between 180°C and 195°C captures the widest span of them — run it hotter and the volatile linalool molecules are the first thing you lose.

Suitability and Recommendations

Who does well with Purple Star? Indoor growers who want the harvest date to be their decision. Outdoor growers who want to choose the moment flowering starts. Anyone with the room and the patience to veg it properly before flipping. It is rated easy, which in practice means a moderate learning curve that rewards attention without needing laboratory conditions. Sent nationwide in plain, unbranded packaging, with sourced grow data on every strain page.

Breeding Programme
Filial Stabilisation (F4) — four-generation selection
Stabilisation Notes — What This Means for Your Grow

Four rounds of filial stabilisation on the Purple Star cross. The dense flower architecture expression sits uniform; pheno-to-pheno yield variation runs within ±10% of the published numbers.

Breeding Goal

Pin dense flower architecture consistency across the Purple Star population.

Selection Focus

Chosen for resin output, a low-slung stature and a clean indica terpene fingerprint.

Pollen / Mother Source

Royal King Genetics in-house mother stock — pollen taken from a sibling male drawn from the same selected pheno population.
