Will Satellite OG handle a South African summer outdoors? Yes. Put this 37/63 hybrid in the ground between September and November and you will be cutting from March to May. The balanced genetics take what the country gives them, from coastal humidity in KwaZulu-Natal through to dry Karoo heat. Bloom runs 55-65 days, placing harvest between March and May across most provinces.

What yield is realistic? up to 350 g/m2 indoors is reachable under decent LED with steady feeding. Outdoors, up to 400 g/plant a plant is normal in 50 litre pots or straight into prepared ground in full sun. At 22% THC with myrcene in front, the return on effort is good.

How much can go wrong before it shows? Some. Anyone who understands pH, a feeding schedule and a light cycle will be fine. Neglect it entirely and it will suffer, but a single missed watering will not undo the grow.

Which medium suits it best? Depends what you are optimising for. Organic soil cut with 30% perlite and amended with bone meal, rock phosphate and kelp meal gives the fuller flavour, and all three are stocked by garden centres, agricultural co-ops and hydro shops countrywide. Does it cope with real summer heat? Well enough, on hybrid vigour. Keep the root zone under 28°C with mulch or pale pots, and do not transplant during a heatwave.

When do I switch to bloom feed? As soon as pistils show, not a fortnight later. Held low, at 180-188°C, the limonene and pinene notes stay legible with myrcene underneath them. Run it hotter, or burn it, and the three collapse into one — still pleasant, but without the separation that makes this cultivar worth paying attention to.

Satellite OG is a reasonable fit for growers with the basics already in place. Understand pH, know roughly what nutrient ratios do, and be able to hold a light cycle — it will not carry you, but it does not punish the occasional slip either.
