Royal King Genetics — Seed-Lot Testing

Figures below come from our own seed-lot testing rather than breeder marketing, taken from a single batch tested 2026-02-14 on 475 seeds.

Germination rate: 97.9% (n=475)
Last QC test date: 2026-02-14
Indoor yield: 449-582 g/m² (avg across 9 verified grower reports)
Outdoor yield: 469-726 g/plant (avg across 4 verified grower reports)

About Star Killer Feminised

Days 1 to 14, seed to fourth node: Expect Star Killer to crack in roughly 48 hours on damp paper towel and to break soil by day three. Early growth comes in low and wide — broad seed leaves first, then the dark fan leaves the indica side is known for. Four nodes by the end of week two, stacked close together. Damping off is rare if you hold near 70% humidity through this stage.

Weeks 3 to 6, building the frame: Top at the fourth node and the laterals take over fast. A 60 x 60 cm footprint filled by week five is normal, still under 40 cm tall, which is what makes this workable in a small tent.

Bloom, weeks 1 to 10: The 66/34 character becomes obvious here. Linalool usually shows in week three and strengthens from there, with trichome cover visible without a loupe from about week five. Indoor yield: 350-400 g/m2. Height: 150 cm. Tested at 15% THC. Difficulty: medium.

Bloom Through to Jar

Weeks 4 to 6. This is where the plant stops looking like a frame and starts looking like a crop. Density climbs almost daily — by week five a developing cola should feel firm rather than springy under light pressure. Pull the fan leaves shading the lower canopy at the start of week four, which matters more than usual if the room is sitting near 55% humidity through a damp autumn.

Weeks 8 to 10, ripening. Drop to plain water for the final ten days. The linalool carry gets strong enough that carbon filtration stops being optional in a residential street. Trichomes run clear to milky across the last fortnight, amber showing on sugar leaves before it reaches the calyxes; around 15% amber on the calyxes themselves is a common place to cut.

Drying and curing. Whole-plant hang in the dark at 17°C and 58% humidity for roughly 12 days — when stems snap instead of bending, it is ready for glass. Burp twice daily for the first fortnight, then once daily through weeks three and four. Finished weight should land near the 350-400 g/m2 estimate. The myrcene note comes through markedly stronger after curing than it did at harvest, which is the clearest evidence that a cure builds flavour rather than merely preserving it.

Difficulty: medium. In flower for 8-10 weeks. Stands 150 cm. Indoors it returns 350-400 g/m2. Outdoors, 700 g/plant a plant. Feminised seeds.

What Star Killer Is Like to Use

The effects most commonly reported for this cultivar are relaxed, sleepy, happy. At 15% THC it sits in a bracket where the dose does most of the work. A single bowl vaporised at 185°C gives a manageable body relaxation with your head still intact — enough to close out a long day in the summer heat. Push the dose and it moves decisively toward physical sedation, which is how it tends to end up as a winter evening cultivar. The Linalool/Myrcene pairing leaves a shifting profile that keeps turning up new notes on the palate.

Where it fits: quiet evenings, a film, recovery after exercise, and the hours before sleep.

The Aromatic Three

Leading with Linalool, then Myrcene, and Caryophyllene underneath. This trio turns up repeatedly in cultivars that win things, and it is why a jar of Star Killer tends to get a reaction the first time it is opened after curing. Linalool sets the anchor, myrcene fills the middle, and caryophyllene sits in the background doing the work that separates this from every other strain built on the same primary terpene.

Suitability and Recommendations

Star Killer is a reasonable fit for growers with the basics already in place. Understand pH, know roughly what nutrient ratios do, and be able to hold a light cycle — it will not carry you, but it does not punish the occasional slip either. Photoperiod genetics leave size and timing in your hands — hold it in veg for a bigger plant, or flip early when headroom is the constraint. A September-to-May outdoor season comfortably covers a 8-10 weeks bloom in the frost-free provinces. Posted discreetly anywhere in South Africa, with sourced grow figures shown on every strain page.

Backcross Stabilisation (BX2) — modern hybrid fixing
Stabilisation Notes — What This Means for Your Grow

Backcrossed twice to the dominant parental line. Star Killer now expresses purple expression consistently across the population — what made the original cross interesting is preserved without the pheno-roulette of an unstabilised F1.

Breeding Goal

Fix parent-cut traits in Star Killer without narrowing the population too far.

Selection Focus

Chosen for trichome coverage, stout structure and consistent flowering time across the pack.
