Royal King Genetics — Seed-Lot Testing

Figures below come from our own seed-lot testing rather than breeder marketing, taken from a single batch tested 2026-04-12 on 150 seeds.

Germination rate: 98.3% (n=150)
Last QC test date: 2026-04-12
Indoor yield: 448-590 g/m² (avg across 8 verified grower reports)
Outdoor yield: 490-846 g/plant (avg across 7 verified grower reports)

About Big Buddha Cheese Auto

The way to plan Big Buddha Cheese is backwards from the day you intend to cut, with 25 g+ per plant per square metre indoors and 45 g+ per plant per plant outdoors as the figures you are working toward, at 18% THC. Count 75-90 days from seed to harvest back from that date and you have your flip date. Weight comes on evenly across 75-90 days from seed to harvest, with a late surge that punishes impatience. The 60/40 balance gives you stacking density and broad trichome cover together. Outdoors, late March to late April is the sweet spot — after the summer humidity has broken, before the first Highveld frost.

Where the Weight Actually Comes From

Yield on Big Buddha Cheese — the 25 g+ per plant indoors and 45 g+ per plant outdoors quoted above — is decided in three short stretches of the 75-90 days from seed to harvest bloom rather than evenly across it.

The first ten days after the flip. Whatever stretch happens here sets your canopy, and an uneven canopy wastes light for the remainder of the grow. Stretch of 30-40% is normal. One round of low-stress training on the tallest shoots levels it out.

Weeks three to five. This is when caryophyllene production climbs, and it answers to the gap between day and night temperature rather than to either number on its own. Keep at least 6-8°C between them. Outdoor growers in the interior provinces get that swing free in March and April; indoors, aim for 25-26°C lights-on against 18-20°C lights-off, with potassium-led bloom feed at EC 1.6-1.8.

The last ten to fourteen days. Stop feeding, flush with pH-corrected water, and read trichomes daily under a 60x loupe. Cut at 10-15% amber to keep both sides of the hybrid in play. Outdoors that usually lands between late March and mid-April.

Difficulty: easy. In flower for 75-90 days from seed to harvest. Stands 90-120 cm. Medium. Indoors it returns 25 g+ per plant. Outdoors, 45 g+ per plant a plant.

Aroma, Flavour and Effect

The first thing Big Buddha Cheese does at 18% THC is settle a warm peppery spice at the back of the throat. The happy, relaxed, uplifted effects follow within minutes, across head and body at once. Thinking stays clear while muscle tension drains off, which leaves the dose as the deciding factor — light for the afternoon, heavier and it moves into the evening without a jolt. Limonene sits underneath all of it, adding a brightness that offsets any heaviness.

The Aromatic Three

Leading with Caryophyllene, then Limonene, and Myrcene underneath. Read across a cure, these three compounds do not stay in the same order. Fresh off the dry, caryophyllene leads. After three or four weeks in sealed glass at 16-18°C the myrcene undertone comes up and the bouquet gains a layer it did not have at harvest. Vaporising between 180°C and 195°C captures the widest span of them — run it hotter and the volatile myrcene molecules are the first thing you lose.

Suitability and Recommendations

Who does well with Big Buddha Cheese? People growing on flat balconies from Cape Town to Johannesburg. Smallholders after a fast outdoor crop. Indoor growers short on headroom. Autoflowering genetics run to their own clock, so there is no light schedule to hold, no worrying about light leaks, and harvest lands 10-12 weeks from germination whatever the season is doing. It is rated easy, which in practice means a moderate learning curve that rewards attention without needing laboratory conditions. Sent nationwide in plain, unbranded packaging, with sourced grow data on every strain page.

Autoflower Stabilisation (F5) — ruderalis trait fixing
Stabilisation Notes — What This Means for Your Grow

Big Buddha Cheese is an autoflowering line that has been progressed through five rounds of Royal King Genetics autoflower stabilisation. The autoflower trait is recessive — fixing it takes multi-generation work — and at F5 the auto trigger and finish window are welded across the pack.

Breeding Goal

Lock the autoflower trait in Big Buddha Cheese through five generations of selection.

Selection Focus

Chosen for trichome density, bud structure and the hybrid trait balance the cross was engineered for.

Pollen / Mother Source

Royal King Genetics in-house mother stock — pollen taken from a sibling male drawn from the same selected pheno population.
